It’s your turn to contribute to Rejected, the first official book of The Rejection Show! We’re seeking rejected material and/or stories of failure and rejection for the book.
Hi Potential Contributors,
The Rejection Show is releasing its first official book with Villard (Random House) in 2009. I’ll be editing a collection of rejected material and the humorous stories of failure, heartbreak and rejection that go along with them. The book is fittingly titled, ”Rejected.” (subtitle coming soon… oh maybe that’ll be the subtitle!)
It is with great pleasure that I invite YOU to submit your rejected material for inclusion in ”Rejected.” The book is going to capture the same unique fun variety elements as seen on the live show and as usual I am very much open to your own ideas of how and what you’d like to submit. We’re looking for fun, entertaining submissions that deal with the overall theme of rejection and failure.
“Rejected” is going to be a hilarious compilation of rejection stories-and/or simply the rejected works themselves - from well-known and “under the radar” comedians, writers, cartoonists, filmmakers, television personalities, artists and creative types, based on the cult hit comedy show “The Rejection Show,” offering a humorous and cathartic inside look at what it takes to deal with and overcome rejection. The material will be displayed through text, scripts, cartoons, drawings, images and photographs, giving the reader a fleshed-out, insightful, behind-the-scenes look into the creative process. ”Rejected” will also include personal stories of rejection told through break-up letters, love letters, rejection-related diary entries, hate mail and negative reviews.
So, dig up that old material that you thought would never again get a chance to see the light of day -whether its something that you are proud of that was overlooked or something that you can’t believe you ever created in the first place and send it our way.
Thank you so much for taking part in this!
Sincerely,
Jon Friedman
